I go to yoga with my husband fortnightly and it has been fantastic. We have been with Gabby for 6 years, since she began teaching in her other studio in Watlington and she has helped us in numerous ways. We now go to The Shala, the studio at Harleyford.
Breathing exercises have been great for both of us and allows us to switch our minds off. Gabby always tailors her sessions to our needs, always asking if we have any particular parts of the body that are feeling too tight or which are hurting so she knows what she is dealing with!!
As there are two of us we are both looked after in different ways. My husband has painful knees and I have a painful wrist so we do slightly different styles of the same movement practice. Don’t try and pretend you are fully in the yoga position though, she can spot you a mile off if you’re not!!
I think Gabby has been particularly amazing when I had a small stroke in 2022. The hospital pretty much discharged me and then Gabby worked with me on the parts of my body that had been left weakened. She has been incredibly encouraging and positive. I owe a lot to her for her amazing help.
There are also hammocks (Aerial Yoga) at The Shala and we love them, you can really push yourself physically in these. Trusting yourself to balance in these is amazing, as is lying in them to relax at the end of the session, especially when she plays the crystal bowls or chooses some very soothing music and mantras.
Gabby also shares energy healing in the form of tuning forks and massage. A positive all rounder she is 🙂 We wouldn’t go anywhere else for yoga or spiritual healing.
